Julia grew up in Argentina and obtained her Bachelor of Business Administration from the Universidad Nacional de Córdoba in Argentina and a Master in Business Administration with a major in International Business from Kennesaw State University in Georgia.
She moved to Fitchburg over 12 years ago when her husband, Dante, became a professor of Geological Engineering at UW-Madison. As soon as she arrived she immediately fell in love with the community.
Julia’s goal in life is to be an agent of chance and to transform the community around her for the better. She always works to be an active part of that transformation and not just an observer.
Julia is a proven leader in the community. She is a Fitchburg Alder and has sat on the Fitchburg Community and Economic Development Authority (CEDA).
One of Julia’s passions is to promote and help the Latino community here in Dane County. Following that passion, she was instrumental in growing the Latino Chamber of Commerce of Dane County, and was the President of that organization for several years. She is also a founding member of the Latino Professional Association of Greater Madison.
In 2013, Julia was recognized with the “Women of Achievement Award” by the Wisconsin Women of Color Network for her commitment to enriching the lives of women of color. In 2012, Brava Magazine recognized Julia as one of “23 Women to Watch” for her role in the Latino Chamber of Commerce. In 2015, InBusiness Magazine named her one of the most influence people in Madison that year.
In 2014, she was awarded the Community Leader Award for her work with the Latino Business community in Dane County.
Julia is a manager at Wegner CPAs and Consultants in the tax and business services department. With a 10-year tenure at Wegner CPAs, Julia leads the Spanish-speaking niche and performs in-depth financial analysis and tax preparation.
In her spare time, she enjoys gardening, volunteering, and watching soccer.
