She moved to Fitchburg over 12 years ago when her husband, Dante, became a professor of Geological Engineering at UW-Madison. As soon as she arrived she immediately fell in love with the community.

Julia’s goal in life is to  be an agent of chance and to transform the community around her for the better. She always works to be an active part of that transformation and not just an observer.

Julia is a proven leader in the community. She is a Fitchburg Alder and has sat on the Fitchburg Community and Economic Development Authority (CEDA).

One of Julia’s passions is to promote and help the Latino community here in Dane County. Following that passion, she was instrumental in growing the Latino Chamber of Commerce of Dane County, and was the President of that organization for several years. She is also a founding member of the Latino Professional Association of Greater Madison.
